Daily Self-Care Checklist

Self-care. Something easy to do and something easy not to do. We all know we need it, but do we really make the time for it. Personally, some weeks I rock at making sure my mental health is great. Others, like this week, pretty sure I missed the boat completely. Anyone else feel me?

You know the weeks were work was just a touch too insane. I teach 4-year-olds all day and when the weather is off so are they! It’s a thing, trust me! A week where you’re so behind on laundry you’re pretty sure you’ll have to go commando tomorrow if something doesn’t get cleaned. A week where you know you got your full eight hours of sleep, but it doesn’t feel like it. You know, just one of those weeks.

Thankfully, I’ve been blessed with a husband who makes sure our household chores get fulfilled, but with him starting Master classes it doesn’t get done and honestly, I’m what Preston calls a frat boy so we all know I struggle with cleaning. HA!  Don’t worry though, God still loves us! Thank goodness!

When our weeks get chaotic we have got to remember to make sure we take time for us! You’ll be shocked at what a good 15 minutes towards your mental health will do. Again, easy to do, easy not to do. For example, brushing your teeth. Easy to brush, easy not to brush, but if you go a long time without brushing you can totally tell you haven’t brushed and that is just nasty.

So to make sure you take care of your mental health and I keep myself accountable I’ve created an awesome Daily self-care checklist. Print this off and keep it by your bed or on your bathroom mirror. I’ve added little stars to help you keep track of what you’ve done daily. Laminate the checklist and use a dry erase marker to check off the items daily.

Remember, take care of yourself first. If your bucket isn’t full how can you fill anyone else up?
