Top 5 Essential Oils To Help With Mental Health

The first time I was introduced to essential oils, I was feeling super anxious. I told my husband I had to go lay down and relax. Later, he walks into his parent’s guest bedroom and goes, “Mom says to breathe this in and put it on your wrist.” Now, believe me, at first I’m thinking, “What in the heck is this? You honestly think some oil on my wrist, or breathing it in, will help?” Well, no joke, about five minutes later I literally felt my chest loosen and my shoulders get lighter. Can someone say hooked?

I’m always looking for ways to help cope with my anxiety, especially naturally. Now, I know there are a ton of different brands out there from Doterra to YoungLiving to Amazon. You may have a different brand and that’s totally okay, just use them!

Now I’m passing on the knowledge. You may be just as skeptical as I was, but honestly, just try it. You’ll be shocked! Here are my favorite top five essential oils that I use to help keep me relaxed.

Disclaimer: I’ll be talking Doterra as that is the brand I use, but get with a friend that sells essential oils (we all have at least one) and ask them if they have something similar. A little PSA, go through a friend and help support their business. I’m sure Amazon or Target have great finds, but you could be helping a friend put her little girl through dance classes so do them a solid. Again, just a little PSA for yah šŸ™‚

Whisper: This is my favorite go-to oil for when my anxiety is just starting to get out of control, or I’m in a full on panic attack. Honestly, it’s saved my life in Target a couple of times.

Anchor: This is part of Doterra’s Yoga Oils. I use yoga to help me stay calm throughout the week. Anytime I’m practicing I’ll place a few drops on the top of my mat and on my wrist. It’s great for grounding yourself.

Deep Blue:Ā Raise your hand if your shoulder blades and neck ache with pain due to holding all that stress in? Me too! Put some deep blue on and man those aches go away immediately.

DigestZen: Now, this may not be for everyone, but I get horrible stomach cramps when I haven’t dealt with my anxiety in a while. I put a few drops on my stomach, rub them in, and within ten minutes or so I’m good to go!

One: This is one of Doterra’s newer blends and I diffuse this in my house, all the time. It smells like Heaven and I believe has a great blend of different calming oils.

Pray these oils can be a blessing to you on your journey with coping with mental health. Comment below your favorite essential oil!
