Book Review: Chase the Lion by Mark Batterson
Have you ever had that gut feeling God created you for more than what you’re currently doing? That feeling of I’m meant for more than just clocking in 9-5? That you’re meant to minister, start a business, or take that leap of faith in your current position? That God is calling you to do something extraordinary you’re just not sure what? or how? or when?
If you’ve ever felt like that you’ll be thrilled with Mark’s book Chase the Lion. Mark smacks you in the face and reminds you that God created you to live an extraordinary life filled with purpose. One of my favorite lines from his book is:
You have to go after a dream that is destined to fail without divine intervention.
Think about your vision for the future for the second…how high are your expectations? Could your success be explained by only God’s hand at work? What about your future generations? Is your dream including them? What does your legacy look like?
The book focuses in on one of King David’s bodyguards, Benaiah. Benaiah was one of the fiercest and most loyal. One day, he encountered a lion on a snowy day and instead of running away he ran towards the lion and won! I don’t know about you, but no way José. I’m out. Mark goes, in depth, on lessons we can learn from King David and Benaiah and how by applying those lessons we can leave a legacy greater than we’ve ever imagined.
If you are ready to reach for the stars, want to know more about King David’s mindset, or just love a good personal development book this one is for you. Honestly, I’ve read a fair share of personal development books and this by far is one of my top 3 books. So go to the library or grab it here on Amazon and give it a read. I promise you by page 5 you’ll be messaging me you’re in love.
